Guide to Permanent Brow Styles

Choosing the right brow technique is an important step in achieving your perfect look. Each method offers a unique finish, from soft and natural to fuller and more defined. Whether you prefer the delicate realism of fine hairstrokes, the long-lasting depth of shading, or a combination of both, we’ll help guide you toward the treatment that best suits your style, skin type, and lifestyle.

Hairstroke 'Hyper-Realism' Brows

Natural, feather-light brows created with ultra-fine strokes that mimic real hair. This technique blends seamlessly with your natural brows for a fuller, soft, and realistic finish—customized to your face shape and colouring.

Created with a PMU machine, this is the most intricate technique, offering precision and beautifully natural results.

The treatment typically takes around 1.5-2 hours, with results lasting 1–3 years depending on your skin type, medication, product use and lifestyle.

Suitable for most skin types, this method is especially effective for clients with normal to dry skin who want a natural, subtle enhancement. For very oily or mature skin, alternative techniques such as combination or ombré brows may be recommended for longer-lasting results.

Classic Machine Hairstrokes

Delicate, hair-like strokes are created using a PMU machine to give the appearance of naturally fuller brows. This technique offers a clean and timeless finish, adding subtle definition while maintaining a soft, realistic look that blends with your existing brow hairs.

The treatment usually takes around 1-1.5 hours, with results lasting 1–3 years depending on skin type and aftercare.

Suitable for most skin types, though best for normal to dry skin, as very oily skin may cause strokes to blur over time.

Compared to Hairstroke Realism Brows, classic strokes are less intricate but still deliver a natural result. Where realism focuses on ultra-fine detailing and layered dimension, classic machine strokes provide a simpler, softer enhancement—perfect for clients who want natural brows without as much density or detail.

Microbladed Hairstroke Brow

A manual technique using an ultra-fine handheld blade to create crisp, hair-like strokes that mimic the look of natural brows. Microblading gives a soft and realistic enhancement, ideal for clients wanting a natural brow shape with added definition.

The treatment typically takes around 1-.1.5 hours, with results lasting 1–2 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Best suited for normal to dry skin types, as oily skin can cause the fine strokes to blur or fade more quickly.

Compared to Machine Strokes or Hairstroke Realism, microblading does not allow the same level of intricacy or layering. However, it remains a popular choice for those who prefer a more traditional method with beautifully natural results.

Combination brows - Hairstroke and Ombre Brows Combined

A versatile technique that blends ultra-fine hairstrokes with soft shading, giving the brows both natural texture and added depth. The hairstrokes mimic real hairs at the front of the brow, while shading through the mid to tail area adds definition and fullness.

This treatment usually takes 1-1.5 hours, with results lasting 1–3 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Combination brows are suitable for most skin types and are especially beneficial for clients with sparse areas or those wanting a balance between a natural look and a lightly made-up finish.

Compared to Microblading or Classic Machine Strokes, combination brows offer more density and definition. While hairstroke-only techniques focus on subtle realism, combination brows provide a fuller, more polished effect—making them ideal for clients who love the natural look but want a little extra boldness.

Ombre Powder Brows

A soft-shaded technique that creates a beautiful gradient effect—lighter at the front and gradually deeper in colour toward the tail. The result is a fuller, powdered makeup look that still appears soft and natural, tailored to complement your features.

This treatment typically takes around 1-1.5 hours, with results lasting 1-3 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Ombré brows are suitable for all skin types, including oily or mature skin, making them one of the most versatile and long-lasting options.

Compared to Hairstroke or Combination Brows, ombré delivers a more defined, makeup-like finish without individual hair strokes. It’s ideal for clients who prefer a polished, structured brow or who struggle with makeup smudging and want a low-maintenance solution.
